Hazu, best known under her online alias of “Hazunats”, is a Twitch IRL live streamer and content creator out of Osaka, Japan known for her twice a week adventures that combine social eating with deep dives into topics that would make most other streamers blush.
What she needed
Being a live streamer that disliked ads, regularly spoke about topics that weren’t ad or platform friendly, wasn’t good with technology coupled with being a female content creator, she needed a fully managed website where her brand could be centralized and expanded. Due to her less filtered topics of conversation, getting banned on Twitch and difficulty monetizing through ads and sponsorships would always be trickier than your average streamer or influencer so monetization and platform resilience was a crucial point in case anything were to happen on her social platforms so her audience could still reach her.
What we did
Originally, Hazunats.com was intended as a simple link page to simplify promoting herself on other social platforms as she was planning to livestream as a hobby but didn’t have much
Later on, we changed the code base of the site in order to accommodate more features so she could monetize and have a permanent place for viewers to find her regardless of the platform she’s on. The current site is on a global CDN which helps Hazunats.com load quickly to visitors and potential viewers and customers anywhere in the world while being hosted in an Osaka-based datacenter.
Her site’s authority was built up following incidents in Germany1 2 and Italy3 in order to give her a voice should there be incorrect press coverage. Most influencers, sadly do not have a strong enough platform to get their side of the story out when something goes wrong and are beholden to media narrative.
In collaboration with Faction Ready, another of our clients, we set up a merch store so Hazu could make income beyond direct tips and eventually sell custom products to a wider audience.
Plans for the future
Like a lot of our brick and mortar clients, Hazu is risk-averse and does not wish to spend a lot of money putting the cart before the horse. Therefore plans were put in place and the site was built with self-hosted group chats, live stream, travel guides, and guided tours in mind. Multiple avenues of monetization and different types of businesses along with sponsorship tracking can be integrated into Hazunats.com without having to rework the entire website.
Though livestreaming is her passion, she understands that this is not a predictable career path so she’s working to expand her offerings of products and services outside of what the Twitch world can offer without cutting into her stream schedule and lowering her dependence on direct tips.
